During a studio critique at the University of Pennsylvania, a professor told me to take all my work from the walls and start over. He saw no passion in my creative process and deemed my efforts fruitless. Years later I am grateful for this fundamental lesson in creating art of substance--one must have great passion for their subject. My series, Family, is a loving reflection of childhood trips and holidays and the familial relationships that molded me as an individual. These are abstracted landscapes of great passion and gratitude made in loving memory of my father.
